Cyto-active amino-acids and peptides. Part XIV. Poly- and copoly-(amino-acyl) derivatives of melphalan

Abstract

A series of effective tumour-inhibitory polymeric compounds has been prepared by allowing melphalan [p-di-(2-chloroethyl)aminophenyl-L-alanine] ethyl or benzyl ester to initiate the polymerisation and copolymerisation of N-carboxy-amino-acid anhydrides in anhydrous solution. The results of anti-tumour tests are presented.
