A cytochrome C encapsulated metal organic framework as a bio-material for sulfate ion recognition

Abstract

An ensemble of a cytochrome c and 2,6-naphthalene dicarboxylate based metal organic framework is synthesized. The bio-material selectively senses sulfate ions in 100% aqueous solution and in the solid phase with practical applications.
