Glycerol–water mediated centrifuge controlled green synthesis of oleic acid capped PbS quantum dots for live cell imaging

Abstract

Glycerol–water mediated convenient synthesis of PbS quantum dots (QDs) is introduced utilizing distinctive precipitation strategies. It is exceptionality fascinating to observe that the aforementioned factor assumes a major role in the capping process, stability as well as purity and crystalline nature of the QD. Strong red fluorescence from QDs in the HeLa cell makes these materials suitable for deep tissue imaging.
