Metal–organic framework membranes with layered structure prepared within the porous support

Abstract

A uniquely microstructured membrane, a metal–organic framework (MOF) layer within the porous support, was prepared by a counter-diffusion method. The MOF-based membrane prepared from the copper benzene tricarboxylate (Cu-BTC), one of the MOFs, exhibited excellent gas perm-separation properties with an ideal H2/CH4 selectivity of 153.
