Photo-induced, Cu-catalyzed three component azidofluoroalkylation of alkenes with CF3I and RfI as fluoroalkylation reagents

Abstract

The photo-induced, Cu-catalyzed three component azidofluoroalkylation of alkenes was realized by directly using fluoroalkyl iodides as fluoroalkylation reagents. The reactions showed general and broad abilities, which were effective for the introductions of trifluoromethyl (–CF3), difluoromethyl (CF2CO2Et), and perfluoroalkyl groups (–C4F9, –C6F13, and –C8F17).
