An alternative ionic liquid based electrolyte for dye-sensitized solar cells

Abstract

An ionic liquid based, environmentally friendly electrolyte LiI(C2H5OH)4–I2 was used as the electrolyte to fabricate dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSC) with energy conversion efficiency of 4.9% under AM 1.5 (100 mW cm−2) irradiation.
