Synthesis of 7,10- and 7,8-dimethylbenz[c]acridine

Abstract

7,10-Dimethylbenz[c]acridine, commonly used in experimental cancerology, is shown to be a mixture with 7,8-dimethylbenz[c]acridine. Unambiguous syntheses of these two dimethylbenz[c]acridine are described.
