Transformation of CO2 into polyureas with 3-amino-1,2,4-triazole potassium as a solid base catalyst†
Abstract
A series of amino triazole alkali salts (MATriz, M was Li, Na, K) were prepared, characterized and used for the direct synthesis of polyureas from CO2 and diamines. Under the reaction conditions of an initial pressure of CO2 of 4 MPa, 170 °C, 8 h, good to excellent yields of various polyureas were achieved over the KATriz catalyst. According to the results of the characterization of the MATriz catalyst, it was found that the catalytic performance is essentially consistent with the basicity of salts. Besides, the catalyst could be easily recycled and reused for several runs without obvious deactivation.
