Nanocrystalline α-alumina with novel morphology at 1000 °C

Abstract

Nanocrystalline α-alumina with novel morphology has been synthesized at the relatively low temperature of 1000 °C without any seeding materials, in which 5 nm-nanocrystallites of α-alumina form into nanorods having widths of about 15 nm and lengths ranging from 50 to 250 nm.
