Structural study by energy dispersive X-ray diffraction of amorphous mixed hydroxycarbonates containing Co, Cu, Zn, Al

Abstract

A non commercial θθ energy dispersive X-ray diffractometer equipped with a solid state detector has been used for the determination of the amorphous structures of nine mixed hydroxycarbonates containing Co, Cu, Zn and Al. Energy dispersive X-ray diffraction (EDXD) provides information about the local order around the divalent metal ions and AlIII. An octahedral configuration around all the cations was found. Debye functions were calculated and compared with the experimental curves.
