The spectra and structure of aluminium chloride complexes. Part II

Abstract

The infrared spectra of the complexes AlCl3,HCO2Me, AlCl3,Ph2CO, AlCl3,PhCOCl, and the complex of AlCl3 and COCl2 have been examined over the range 4000–80 cm.–1. The spectra are interpreted on the basis of covalent 1 : 1 complexes co-ordinated via carbonyl oxygen to aluminium.
