Microwave assisted domino heck cyclization and alkynylation: synthesis of alkyne substituted dihydrobenzofurans

Abstract

Microwave assisted domino intramolecular Heck and Sonogashira coupling for the efficient synthesis of alkyne substituted dihydrobenzofurans is presented. Interestingly, the strategy showed broad substrate scope and was successful with protecting group free functionalities of acetylenes. Gratifyingly, all products were obtained, in excellent to near quantitative yields, in a short span of time.
