X-Ray investigations on liquid-crystalline copolysiloxanes for second-harmonic generation

Abstract

Ferroelectric liquid-crystalline copolymers of chiral mesogens and non-chiral comonomers have been described and their mesophase properties have been investigated by X-ray diffraction. Tilted smectic mesophases are obtained for a chromophore content of up to 50 mol%.
