Analysis of photon correlation spectral decay functions. Part 2.—Two-component analysis

Abstract

The limits to the resolution of the molecular weights of two monodisperse polymer components observed in diffusion by photon correlation spectroscopy are analysed. Resolution conditions imposed by noise levels in the data must be satisfied. When the noise levels on the data set satisfy those conditions the accuracy of the determination of the decay components depends on the sampling technique.
