Two-dimensional ENDOR imaging based on differences in oxygen concentration
Abstract
ENDOR images in two dimensions are presented from phantom samples of aqueous solutions of Fremy's salt and plant stems containing di-t-butyl nitroxide which have different oxygen concentrations. The ENDOR intensity as a function of position can be recorded utilizing an ENDOR-induced e.s.r. technique under an applied field gradient within the plane perpendicular to the external field. The different oxygen concentrations can be contrasted in a two-dimensional ENDOR image based on the difference in the ENDOR enhancement as a function of position.
