A dimeric aluminium hydroxide supported by a new disiloxide ligand

Abstract

The synthesis and structure of a dimeric aluminium hydroxide complex containing the novel chelating 1,4-disiloxide ligand [CH2{Me(Me3Si)2Si}2SiO]22− (2) − 2H is reported. [CH2{Me(Me3Si)2Si}2SiO]2AlOH (4) was prepared by careful hydrolysis of [CH2{Me(Me3Si)2Si}2SiO]2AlMe·THF (3).
