Synthesis, structure and magnetic properties of the first Mn(ii)-Gd(iii) heteronuclear complex

Abstract

The synthesis and crystal structure of a novel pentanuclear Mn(II)–Gd(III) complex is reported; the magnetic measurement conclusively demonstrated anti-ferromagnetic behaviour between Mn(II) and Gd(III) for this complex.
