Pulsed dye-laser studies in the B3Σ u state of Se2 Landé factors and perturbations

Abstract

Measurements by the Zeeman quantum beats method of Landé factors in the B3Σu state of Se2 have been performed for a large number of rotational levels. A theoretical analysis of the g variations near local perturbations shows the great sensitivity of this parameter. The results throw some light upon the interaction responsible for these perturbations and the properties of the “P1u” state which interacts with B3Σu.
