Heterogeneously catalysed production of isosorbide tert-butyl ethers

Abstract

Isosorbide tert-butyl ethers (ITBE) have been produced by the acidic ion exchange resin-catalysed etherification of biogenic isosorbide with tert-butanol as well as with isobutene, resulting in high boiling liquids.
