Encapsulation of coumarin dye within lanthanide MOFs as highly efficient white-light-emitting phosphors for white LEDs†
Abstract
In this work, lanthanide metal–organic frameworks with high quantum yields are used to generate phosphors for white-light-emitting diodes (WLEDs). The fluorescent colour of these phosphors can be tuned by the different combinations of the ratio of Eu3+/Tb3+ and the content of encapsulated coumarin 460 dye in these complexes. Further, prototype WLEDs were fabricated by coating these phosphors on commercial ultraviolet LED chips.
