Fabrication of SBA-15 supported Ag@Au–Ag metal-core/alloy-shell nanoparticles for CO oxidation

Abstract

Ag@Au–Ag metal-core/alloy-shell nanoparticles were successfully synthesized via the localized galvanic replacement reaction in the channels of SBA-15. Since the nanoparticles were prepared in the channels of SBA-15, the size was restricted to around 7 nm. Such a small size and the alloy shell structure were proved to be beneficial for the catalytic property toward CO oxidation reaction.
