A three-dimensional heterocluster containing manganese clusters and hexanuclear sodium wheels†
Abstract
In this paper we report a novel heterocluster H5[Na17MnII43(PO4)36] (1), which is the first example of a crystal incorporating manganese clusters and hexametallic sodium wheels simultaneously, and these building blocks are connected to each other through phosphate groups to form a three-dimensional network. Its complicated but aesthetically pleasing architecture exhibits a perfect combination of hexamers.
