Bodipy-backboned polymers as electron donor in bulk heterojunction solar cells

Abstract

Bodipy-based polymers, which possess a high absorption coefficient with a bandgap of ∼1.6 eV, have been used as electron donor in solution-processed bulk heterojunction (BHJ) solar cells containing PCBM as acceptor. A power conversion efficiency (PCE) of ∼2% has been achieved with Voc of ∼0.8 eV and Jsc of ∼4.8 mA cm−2.
