Fluorescent α-cyclodextrin as a chemosensor for halomethanes

Abstract

A new fluorescent chemosensor, NBDamine-appended α-cyclodextrin, was prepared and showed high selectivity for perhalogenated methanes via multisite interactions between the perhalogenated methane and the cyclodextrin molecule.
