Self-assembly of cross-linked β-cyclodextrinnanocapsules

Abstract

Stirring of perthiolated β-cyclodextrin in water yields cross-linked hollow capsules ca. 50 nm in diameter, which can be used for encapsulation and controlled release of large molecules as shown using Reichardt's dye.
