Facile photoinduced charge separation through a cyanoacetylide bridge in a heterobimetallic Fe(ii)–Re(i) complex

Abstract

Photoinduced Fe-to-bpy charge transfer in [{Cp(dppe)Fe}(μ-C[triple bond, length as m-dash]CC[triple bond, length as m-dash]N){Re(CO)3(bpy)}]PF6 has been observed by ps-TRIR spectroscopy, supported by UV-Vis/IR spectroelectrochemistry and DFT calculations.
