Hindered rotation in an “exploded” biphenyl

Abstract

The first cases of hindered rotation around the triple bond in simple diphenylacetylenes were observed, including that in chiral 2,2′-bis(trimethylsilyl)-6,6′-bis(dimethylthexylsilyl)diphenylacetylene.
