7Li,31P Shift correlation. Application to the structural assignment of benzyllithium complexes of N-methyl-N-benzylphosphinamide

Abstract

A correlation experiment between 7Li and 31P nuclei through scalar coupling is described for the first time. The utility of the method is demonstrated by identifying the species formed in the benzylic lithiation of N-benzyl-N-methyldiphenylphosphinamide in Et2O solution.
