The spectroscopic identification and characterisation of carbonyl telluride (OCTe)

Abstract

Photolysis of H2Te in CO or 1% CO/Ar matrices at ca. 10 K results in the formation of carbonyl telluride; the assignment of the νCO modes of OCTe (1965.3 cm−1), O13CTe (1920.0 cm−1) and 18OCTe (1921.3 cm−1) in neat CO matrices is confirmed by DFT calculations.
