Template synthesis and X-ray crystal structure of a trinuclear complex with four- and five-coordinate silver(i) centres

Abstract

Single-crystal X-ray analysis of the trinuclear complex [Ag 3 L 2 ][CF 3 SO 3 ] 3 [L = {(o-Ph 2 C 6 H 4 )CH=NCH 2 CH 2 } 3 N], synthesized by interaction of Ag(CF 3 SO 3 ), N(CH 2 CH 2 NH 2 ) 3 and o-Ph 2 PC 6 H 4 (CHO) in 3:2:6 molar ratio in ethanol, shows that the complex has approximate C 2 symmetry and is composed of a four- and two five-coordinate silver(i) centres.
