Synthesis and structures of platina-β-diketonato complexes ofplatina-β-diketones; organometallic analogues of platinum bluecomplexes

Abstract

The platina-β-diketone [Pt 2 (µ-Cl) 2 {(COMe) 2 H} 2 ] 4a reacts with aniline or p-toluidine to give the first platina-β-diketonato complexes of platina-β-diketones [{(NH 2 R)ClPt(µ-COMe) 2 Pt[(COMe) 2 H ]} 2 ] (R = Ph 5, p-MeC 6 H 4 6), whose X-ray crystal structures reveal the formation of head-to-head dimers with zigzag Pt 4 chains analogous to platinum blue complexes.
