Ba2CsC60: a ternary metal fulleride with a novel anion orientational order

Abstract

The new ternary fulleride Ba2CsC60 is prepared by reduction of C60 by the metals in liquid ammonia followed by crystallisation at high temperature and adopts a novel orientational (dis)ordering of the anions in space group Fm[3 with combining macron].
