Evidence for self-aggregation of the ionophore lasalocid free anion in aqueous solution

Abstract

Surface tension, conductivity and NMR data for tetraaikylammonium salts of lasalocid in water show that they behave as surfactants; their high solubility thus involves lasalocid anion self-aggregation.
