Cleavage of C[double bond, length half m-dash]S multiple bonds by unsaturated cobalt centres: crystal structure of [(C5H5)[graphic ommitted]}(CNPh)]

Abstract

Multiple C[double bond, length half m-dash]S bond cleavage takes place at ambient temperatures when isothiocyanates react with [(C5H5)Co(C2H4)2] giving five-membered metallacyclic complexes such as the structurally characterised complex [(C5H5)Co{C(NPh)NPhC(S)S}(CNPh)].
