Novel bimetallic products from octacarbonyldicobalt and methyl-aminobis(difluorophosphine); X-ray crystal structures of [{MeN(PF2)2}3Co2(PF2NHMe)2] and [{Men(PF2)2}3Co2(CO)2]

Abstract

Reactions of [Co2(CO)8] with an excess of MeN(PF2)2 under various conditions give compounds of the general type [{MeN(PF2)2}3Co2L2](L = MeNHPF2 or CO) shown by single crystal X-ray diffraction to contain a cobalt-cobalt bond bridged by three MeN-(PF2)2 ligands.
