ortho-Metallation of benzylideneaniline: structure of C6H5N:CH·C6H4Mn(CO)4

Abstract

Transition metal derivatives of benzylidene-aniline have been obtained; the structure of C6H5N:CH·C6H4Mn(CO)4 shows that the ligand is bonded via the nitrogen lone pair, and a metal–carbon σ bond formed in an ortho-metallation reaction.
