Novel Ytterbium Complexes of Two Calix[4]resorcinarenes

Abstract

Calix[4]resorcinarenes, 2,8,14,20-tetramethyl- (L ₁ ) and 2,8,14,20-tetraphenyl- (L ₂ ) 5,11,17,23-tetradiethylamino- methylpentacyclo[19,3,1,1 ^3,7 ,1 ^9,13 ,1 ^15,19 ]octacosa- 1(25),3,5,7(26)9,11,13(27),15,17,19(28),21,23-dodecan- 4,6,10,12,16,18,22,24-octols, and their ytterbium complexes were synthesized. Some spectral-luminescence properties of Yb ³⁺ –L ₁ and Yb ³⁺ –L ₂ complexes were studied and their analytical possibilities were examined. The detection limit of ytterbium with L ₂ in YbCl ₃ solution was 0.09 µg ml ^{- 1} .
