Efficient LED-driven MOF-catalysis for aerobic C–H and C–C bond oxidation

Abstract

A novel LED-driven aerobic C–H oxidation is reported via MOF catalysis, eliminating the need for metal sources, additives, or oxidants. This approach also works well with aerobic oxygenation of C–H bonds and C–C cleavage/oxygenation of both alkenes and alkynes all at room temperature. Polyaromatic hydrocarbons were also successfully oxidized under these conditions indicating a broad, extendable scope.
