Flexible control of Co/Zn–nitrogen coordination in ZIFs for electrochemical CO2 reduction to tunable syngas

Abstract

Bimetallic CoxZny-ZIF catalysts were synthesized with adjustable Co/Zn–nitrogen sites for the electrochemical CO2RR to tunable syngas, resulting in a H2/CO ratio ranging from 1 : 1 to 4 : 1. The excellent CO2 adsorption capacity and large specific surface areas were responsible for the high activity of all these CoxZny-ZIF materials. This work has the potential to drive advancements in both the MOF application sector and electrochemical CO2 reduction.
