Double-edged Effects of Electrolyte Additive on Interfacial Stability in Fast-Charging Lithium-Ion Batteries
Abstract
Essential, but not too much—Roles of electrolyte additive (FEC) in Li+ solvation structures and interfacial reactions are revealed in a high-concentration electrolytes. While excessive FEC addition can intervene in original Li+ solvation, compromising interfacial kinetics, minimal FEC is essential in fast-charing applications to seamlessly facilitate Li+ desolvation while reinforcing interfacial stability.
