Planar chiral boron difluoride complexes showing circularly polarized luminescence

Abstract

A novel family of boron difluoride complexes based on [2.2]paracyclophane have been designed and facilely synthesized. These chiral complexes have been demonstrated to have excellent chiroptical properties, with strong Cotton effects and CPL signals and a glum of up to 1.0 × 10−2. Moreover, TD-DFT calculations and cyclic voltammetry were conducted to further understand the photophysical properties.
