Using SeO2 as a selenium source to make RSe-substituted aniline and imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine derivatives

Abstract

The C–Se bond is important in modern synthetic chemistry since organoselenium compounds containing C–Se bonds are associated with various biological, pharmaceutical and materials applications. Here, a new one-pot method for synthesizing ArSe-substituted aniline and imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine derivatives has been developed using SeO2 as a selenium agent. The reaction is metal-free, efficient and environmentally friendly.
