Expanding possibilities for solid-phase crystallization by exsolving tunable Pd–NiO core–shell nanostructures

Abstract

The major drawbacks of solid-phase crystallization as a means of synthesizing catalysts are the lack of heterogeneous structural diversity and the comparatively low metal dispersion it affords. By leveraging differences in reducibility and composition in the parent perovskite B-site, highly disperse Pd–NiO core–shell nanoparticles with a tunable shell thickness can be grown.
