Thermal processing of zeolite seed layers for the fabrication of compact oriented MFI zeolite films

Abstract

A method of thermal processing was demonstrated to treat zeolite seeded substrates prior to secondary growth. Due to the formation of strong covalent linkage between the seed layer and the substrate during heat treatment, a compact and uniform b-oriented MFI zeolite film was obtained after secondary growth. The applicability of this method is validated by employing various film substrates.
