High-performance blend membranes composed of an amphoteric copolymer containing supramolecular nanosieves for direct methanolfuel cells

Abstract

An amphoteric copolymer containing sulfonic acid groups and supramolecular nanosieves has been synthesized and blended with sulfonated poly (ether ether ketone) (SPEEK) for direct methanol fuel cells (DMFCs). The blend membranes show enhanced proton conductivity, suppressed methanol crossover, and superior fuel cell performance over the plain SPEEK and Nafion membranes.
