A brain-coral-inspired metal–carbon hybrid synthesized using agarose gel for ultra-fast charge and discharge supercapacitor electrodes

Abstract

A brain coral-like supercapacitor electrode containing 3D carbon and metal bicontinuous structures was synthesized by a simple method using agarose gel. This bulk electrode can supply excellent power with ultrahigh-rate capability (∼1000 V s−1).
