ZnO-coated carbon nanotubes: an enhanced and red-shifted emission band at UV-VIS wavelength

Abstract

Porous arrays of ZnO-coated carbon nanotubes exhibit multi-excitations and the intensity of light emission at UV wavelengths is significantly enhanced. Carbon diffusion into the oxide is also observed and resultant effects include red-shift and an additional emission centre at 387 nm.
