A facile method was reported for a robust octa(carboxyphenyl) functionalized silsesquioxane (OCS), which offers excellent potential as a nanobuilding-block for the preparation of functional materials. OCS was fully characterized by FT-IR, ¹H, ¹³C, ²⁹Si-NMR, Maldi-TOF-MS spectra, and W-XRD analysis.
