A hydrophilic unimolecular nanocapsule with cyclodextrin moieties in the core: chemically triggered on-demand release and pH-response

Abstract

With β-cyclodextrin inserted in the core, a completely hydrophilic nanocapsule (a hyperbranched polyethylenimine core with a poly(ethylene oxide) shell) can encapsulate hydrophobic pyrene with unique releasing properties: on-demand chemically triggered release and unprecedented sensitivity to pH value.
