We report a novel methodology to prepare hierarchical structured Au–Co₃O₄ materials composed of Co₃O₄ nanowires decorated with Au peripheral inclusions. The electrochemical activity of these materials was also demonstrated by fabrication into negative electrodes for rechargeable Li-batteries.
